The First IOTA/ME Astronomy Summer School (2013)
The first IOTA/ME astronomy summer school was held by IOTA/ME, Iranian Space Agency and IAU OAD at the observatory of Alborz space center (south of Karaj). After the announcement for the school, more than 350 people registered for the program. To guarantee the quality of school and also considering the organizers facilities, 22 people were accepted for this five-days school from different cities of Iran.
The first astronomy school contained the following topics: observation and analysis of different variable stars, galaxy dynamics, space debris and trashes, meteor-shower, hands-on training on how to work with a 16 inch telescope, CCD SBIG 11000M, etc.
Dr. Marjan Zakerin, Dr. Pejman Norouzi, Koorosh Rokni, Somyeh Zahabi, Amir Hassan‘zadeh and Atila Poro were the lecturers of the first astronomy summer school.
