Khajeh Nasir Toosi Observatory of Tabriz University
Khajeh Nasir Toosi observatory is located 45 kilometers from south of Tabriz on the top of Blindi mountain, at 38 degrees north latitude and 46 degrees east longitude.
The observatory has a Refracting telescope (6 inches) with Hα filter in order to study solar phenomena as solar flares and sunspots. Furthermore, there are also two 40 and 60 cm Cassegrain telescopes with the electronic panels which allow researchers to observe stars with an apparent magnitude of 11. Other facilities involve researcher’s accommodation building, 5 and 32 KW generators in addition to 24 inches telescope initiated into work in 2016, which is the largest active telescope in Iran. Each of these telescope are in separated dome.
Now, Khajeh Nasir Toosi Observatory is the largest active Observatory in Iran that can support the researcher’s necessities for observation.
